Sunday… my day was also about sakura but in a very different way! This time I was off to an “hanami party” which means more drinking than sakura watching! And so the place chosen was quite typically… Yoyogi Koen! But at this time of the year the park changes into one massive picnic blanket!!! It was really impressive… the pink white sakura… the bright red Japanese! Everyone drinking chatting, eating… And then it started to rain!
And so the Hanami party kind of faded into a mud party! Still the Hanami party was organized by the metal heads of Tokyo! So even though it was raining everyone stayed, the Japanese under their umbrella, the Germans feeling quite at home and just standing casually under the rain! Alcohol was drunk, metal music was heard, stupid things were done! A good party! Though I had to leave early, for some sushi diner with Japanese family friends… but that’s another story!
