This weekend was one of those “I just have no real plans but somehow I end up doing all sorts of things”.
On Saturday I just got a message from Melinda, like “lets meet up in an hour, sorry for the short notice” and I guess it was exactly what I needed to actually get myself active. It is now stinking hot in Japan, warm humid, the kind of weather that forces you to take things slow. With a funky bunch of people we went to the Mori museum to see an exhibition called “In between” which was a screening of short movies from all over asia. Some were interesting, some were conceptually… long. The problem is when you’re at a museum and you don’t like one piece you move to the next one, but when you’re at a screening you have no choice but seat and wait. It was still an interesting experience, especially coming out and realizing we disagreed on what we felt was interesting, and what was… boring. The beer we had after felt especially nice and refreshing!
In the evening Minako took me to Savoy, which is a kind of an Italian counter trattoria that only serves pizza, but they are really good, fine crust, light cheese, oven backed and made before your eyes. Apparently after diner she spotted, Tomohisa Yamashita (member of the boys band NEWS) but I didn’t… but then again, If I start to have any interest in one of the Johnny’s idols, I guess it will definitely means that somebody has to rescue me and take me far away from Japan…
