And so my trip to the US is now ending! I have spent 3 weeks there and it’s time to conclude this first introduction…
Here are my views… Americans eat too much meat! It’s officially scary! I mean in France we’re taught we should eat 7 kinds of fruits and vegetables per day… in America they probably have 7 kinds of meat!
America is much bigger than I thought! And American sizes are more impressive than I could have ever imagined… especially coming from the land of miniature size that is Japan!! We always hear about America the land of big sizes, I had no idea how big big could be!
The American country side seems absolutely gorgeous
You can’t live in America if you don’t have a car
I don’t like the whole tipping thing
I need to get use to being asked my ID every time I want to buy alcohol, and not get offended when people say “I thought you were 16″, or when they think my friend is my mother.
All in all, I am sure I still have plenty to learn about this huge country and most importantly plenty to see and experience! The West coast felt somewhat more welcoming so I guess I’ll be heading that way!
Special thanks to Gina for welcoming me, feeding me and showing me around it made a great difference!

seattle and vancouver are great towns. but i see you as a san francisco or berkely girl. also, too bad you didn’t go down south to portland, a great city. my personal choice if and when i return. that’s a very bikeable place if you don’t want to drive.
but there’s no place like tokyo. any city will feel small in comparison.
Right on! I’m actually going to move to San Fran… unless it’s just too cold so I’ll just go to Berkley!
Enjoying the country side is one thing I’m looking forward to! I like the way a lot of Americans are into outdoor sports.
I will indeed miss Tokyo greatly but who knows maybe someday I’ll come back!
